Frequently Asked Questions.

Cloud9 wedding photography frequently asked questions. Looking for some answers to your frequent asked wedding questions. Look no further! Hopefully everything below will answer your questions.

Q. What shooting style do you use for weddings?

I use a combination of shooting styles mainly documentary photography or some call it reportage. Basically capturing those natural moments and being as unobstructive as possible allowing you and your guests to enjoy the day.

Q. Can we meet you before we book?

Yes of course, it's always nice to meet up for a chat about your wedding day and break the ice and get to know each other first. Whether it's because you just simply want to meet me in person, that's fine. I'm based in Ludlow, Shropshire. If this is to far then we can have a Zoom or Skype meeting as most do these days.

Q. How do we book you for our wedding ?

I require a £300 non-refundable booking fee to secure your wedding date, with the remaining final balance due 4 weeks before the big day.

Q. Do you have insurance?

Yes. For both public liability and professional indemnity.

Q. Can you pencil us in / hold our date?

Unfortunately no. Due to the number of enquiries I receive your wedding date is only secured once you've paid the booking fee and completed the wedding contract.

Q. What if we hate having our picture taken?

First of all don’t worry! You would be surprised at how many people ask this question. Most couples who like my style of work don't like being in front of the camera. So normally I normally do bride portraits and couple portraits in a quick, fun, relaxed style. I do offer a pre wedding shoot as an added extra if you want a bit of practice before the big day. This helps with the nerves and lets us break the ice and get to know each other a little.

Q. We want lots of group photos, can you do this?

I do 8 -10 family group shots only, if you're after a photographer that is going to work off a long list of group shots, then I'm definitely not the photographer for you.

Q. How long do we have to wait for our wedding photos?

My aim to have all edited images available for viewing in your online gallery as soon as I can. But I always take my time editing as I'm very particular on the standard I send out, so I say between 8 – 12 weeks after your wedding day. Don't forget it's not only just you waiting for your images

Q. Do you take group shots?

Yes I’m happy to take group, family shots with the bride and groom. But I ask that your Best man/Bridesmaid/Usher or family friend help organise everyone together for these shots. I do however like to keep these type of shots to 8 - 10 maximum as they can be so time consuming to. This isn't the style I work in, I would rather be doing what I enjoy and that's documentary wedding photography.Theirs nothing worse being at a wedding watching the life drain out of your wedding guests because of a large list of group shots.

Q. Who owns the copyright / image rights?

By law the photographer retains the copyright of every image they capture/take. However all images are digital downloads and provided as high resolution in your online gallery. The images are yours to print for personal use, email, send to your friends etc. In fact any activity that is not for commercial usage.

Q. How do I get my images wedding?

All images from your wedding day will be in your online gallery to download.

Q. Can you make an album for us?

Yes, what a better way than having your wedding story in a beautiful wedding album. Album prices start from £450

Q. What will you be wearing?

For weddings I usually dress smart casual, a suit is totally impractical as I need to get down and dirty to get the best shots.

Q. Do we need to make eating arrangements for you?

I would appreciate a hot meal/bar snack when you are having your meal. I don’t wish to sit with your guests, unless you want me to. But somewhere close by so I can see what’s going on so I’m ready to take pictures of the speeches.

Q. What If we have to postpone our wedding?

If I’m still available on that date then I can re-schedule the date for you. The £300 deposit is non refundable, if the wedding is cancelled I have T&C in the wedding contract.

Q. Can you photograph the ceremony?

Whether I can photograph your ceremony really depends upon the permission of those officiating the event and this varies widely. From experience I find it depends on individual registrars and vicars, some are happy to let me photograph the service from the front so I can capture the service of you or I may have to go to the back and capture the service from a distance. I’ve never had any problems with other religions where photography is encouraged.  It’s always best to check with who is officiating your event and express that this is an important part of your day and you want your photographer to be in the best spot.

Q. Do you allow other people to take photographs while you are working?

There is no problem with friends and family taking photographs while I’m working. This is an exception when we are doing the couple portraits. Do you really want your guests to view your wedding through a camera or phone!

Q. How far are you willing to travel?

Being based in Shropshire, I'm pretty central. I really love shooting weddings at new venues I haven't worked at before or new locations in and around the UK I haven't yet visited.
