Shrewsbury Quarry | Richard and Rhiannon Pre-Shoot

I’m meeting up with Richard and Rhiannon today at Shrewsbury Quarry park for their engagement shoot. We stopped for a coffee first at the Boathouse pub on the banks of the River Severn with views of the river and the quarry park. It’s always nice catching up with clients and going over the finer details of their wedding day. Discussing what kind of shots they would like and also organising timing so the wedding day runs as smoothly as possible.  Once everything was all organised we made our way over the bridge into Shrewsbury Quarry park.

Shrewsbury Quarry is a hidden gem, I have to say I was really impressed with it’s beautiful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, colourful bedding plants, shrubbery and water features. I believe world renowned gardener Percy Thrower created  this floral masterpiece.  I can’t believe it’s so stunning at the end of September. Richard and Rhiannon told me they were pretty nervous, I have to say once I left them to it they did their own thing. It was as if I wasn’t there  but I managed to capture some cracking little moments and that’s the way I like it, getting gorgeous shots like the first shot in this post which is so relaxed and plenty of laughter and smiles is what it’s all about for me. Being natural isn’t too difficult if you just concentrate on showing how much you love each other and of course I do give some advice to help you along.

You will find a selection of my favourite images below from our Shrewsbury Quarry Park engagement shoot.
