Lyde Court Wedding Photographer

Part of the Duchy of Cornwall Estate, Lyde Court is a romantic stone barn in Herefordshire , just two miles outside of the city centre in a secluded idyllic valley. The rustic stone walls, high ceilings and wooden beams give me so much to work with as a Lyde Court wedding photographer, while you just enjoy your big day.

You can decorate the barn to make the perfect magical setting for your wedding celebrations, and the 360-degree views of the valley provide a beautiful rural backdrop for Lyde Court wedding photography, and your portraits together as newlyweds.

Before your wedding at Lyde Court, you can get ready with your friends and family in some of the incredible onsite accommodation. Decorated in cool tones, with quirky details and all the modern luxuries, it’s the perfect setting to calm the pre ceremony nerves and let your glam squad get to work!

As your guests begin to arrive, they can take in the views, relax and catch up in the lawned courtyard and walled garden – the venue is also dog friendly, so your four-legged friends don’t have to miss out on the action!

Getting married at Lyde Court

The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies, both indoors and outdoors, so there are lots of options when it comes to where you can get married at Lyde Court. You can choose The Great Barn, with its soaring ceilings, as a dramatic setting for up to 250 guests to join you for your ceremony. Or if you have plans for a smaller celebration, The Drawing Room has French doors opening onto the gardens and is ideal for an intimate ceremony.

Outdoor weddings at Lyde Court can take place on the Willow Lawn (which joins the Great Barn) or in The Rose Garden, and there are plenty of other smaller areas to choose from, so you can create a space that works for you and your guests.

The Great Barn can be divided into sections, depending on the size of your celebration, and it’s the sort of place that really comes alive at night. Decorated with twinkling fairy lights, you can have an atmospheric banquet with exceptional, locally sourced food and drink.

The venue looks great in every season and joining you as your Lyde Court wedding photographer gives me a chance to create some stunning portraits, and I’ll also capture all the emotional moments for you to look back on forever.

Real weddings at Lyde Court – Sophie and Joel

Sophie and Joel’s wedding was the perfect mix of elegant and relaxed. The couple’s beautiful little girl Millie, and their dog Luchi also joined them. Capturing shots of them together as a family was really important throughout the day, and I also captured lots of photos of Millie being super cute without Sophie or Joel even realising!

I started the day capturing Sophie as she got ready in the quirky and bright onsite accommodation. She was surrounded by her friends and family (and gorgeous little Millie!) as she had her hair done by Hair Comes the Bride Stylist, and make up by Nicola Harrison.

Their styling for the day was stunning and perfectly suited the venue, and Sophie and Joel’s personalities. Dress to Impress by Julie did an incredible job of making the whole day look beautiful, and the flowers from May Rose Floral Design worked really well with the soft, natural colour palette.

We had glorious weather, which meant their guests could relax and enjoy the views of the valley during their drinks reception, they also had magician Adam Reeves entertaining everyone (with a cheeky twist!)

I took Sophie and Joel for a short walk to capture some beautiful photos of them in the grounds of Lyde Court. Joel will be the first to admit he wasn’t too keen on the idea of portraits, but he soon relaxed into it as we chatted and enjoyed the opportunity to explore the gardens.

I also played the dual role of chauffeur and photographer, as we went on a drive in a golf buggy provided by the venue – which meant we could get a brilliant photo of them with Lyde Court in the background.

The Great Barn was laid out for their wedding breakfast in a banquet style, with candles and fairy lights creating a warm glow and magical atmosphere. Home Farm Kitchenprovided their elegant cake, and the brilliant food from Lyde Court certainly kept their guests happy and fuelled ahead of the speeches.

The dancefloor was full of interesting moves (Dad Dancing is Permitted!), as everyone enjoyed dancing and singing along – then they finished off the evening with sparklers and professional fireworks from Dragon Fire. The photos show just how impressive the display was, and their guests were loving every moment!

Congratulations Sophie and Joel!
