Documentary wedding photography
My documentary wedding photography will capture moments that often pass you by during your wedding day. A fleeting moment, filled with love. My job as a documentary wedding photographer is to capture these special moments as best as I can, it’s what I’m passionate about
Documentary, photo journalism or reportage photography?
Photo journalistic, reportage photography is also the same style. A documentary wedding photographer will capture your day using an alternative approach, rather than the traditional way. This style reflects the way I work as a Shropshire wedding photographer, using my experience to capture emotion at weddings locally and further afield across the whole of the UK. I wait and capture the day spontaneously to emphasize moments and emotion, documenting exactly what happened. I’ll steer clear of the smiling and posing type photos, apart from a few group shots with family if you want them.
Relaxed photos, minimal posing
During your wedding day, I will take you both away for some time for you to reflect on the day. Allowing you to be yourselves, which hopefully means I will capture those true moments. If you are a little shy or unsure what to do, I can help, I’ll provide simple guidance with minimal posing. If you want some practice, you might want to consider a pre wedding shoot, to get to know how I work and calm those nerves before the big day.
Documentary wedding photographer – blending in
My goal is to blend right in with your guests and be as unobtrusive as possible. I’ll be capturing the reality of your wedding day with little interference, my focus is always on finding moments during the wedding that happens naturally, rather than setting up to shots. As a documentary wedding photographer, I love how these images look in black and white, it makes them timeless and elegant, a match made in heaven.
