Country house wedding

A country house wedding at one of my favourite wedding venues! I’ve worked as a Delbury Hall wedding photographer so many times, I’ve lost count! It’s a stunning country house wedding venue in the heart of Shropshire, perfect for a country wedding.

Twelve months ago, Sue (Alice's mum) approached me at one of Ludlow catering‘s tasting day events. She was looking for a documentary wedding photographer for her daughter’s wedding that summer, explaining that Alice was currently living in Australia with her partner James. Of course, without hesitation I agreed, they were getting married at one of my favourite places!

All the planning from there on was done via email.

I finally got to meet Alice in person several months before the big day, during a visit to the bridal boutique, but I didn’t manage to meet up with James until a week before the wedding. They are a lovely, outgoing couple and capturing their happiness was an absolute pleasure!

Manor house wedding

Alice and James’ country house wedding day started off with me capturing the finer details of the reception room, which was ready for the day ahead. The bridal preparations were in full swing, everybody was having such fun with Alice’s infectious smile. While Alice got into her wedding dress, James and his groomsmen gave me their ‘blue steel’ pose, (if you don’t know, it’s from the film Zoolander… Being a massive film buff I instantly knew what they were doing!)

Summer outdoor wedding

James and his crew were ready, and looking proper dapper while greeting guests as they arrived. Being outside surrounded by beautiful countryside is what I really love about photographing outdoor weddings like this one. Alice walked down the aisle beaming from cheek to cheek and looking positively stunning.

Throughout the rest of the day, I worked in a relaxed documentary wedding photography style, allowing me to simply capture the day by disappearing into the crowd. Everyone could forget about being in front of the camera, while I captured real, unposed moments. Of course, I still shot around 8 - 10 family group shots, and relaxed portraits; the day wouldn’t be complete without them. Alice and James had a brilliant wedding, surrounded by their family and friends, and I loved being part of it.
