Barnutopia wedding - Gel and Baz got married last August at the rustic Barnutopia, which is a quirky farm in Shropshire. It's the first time I have been to this wonderful venue, set in the countryside surrounded by rolling hills and woodlands. It was also a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!

Barnutopia wedding preparations

Baz and Gel got ready in one of the many areas that Barnutopia have to offer. Gel get ready in the farm house looking for and Baz got ready in one of the rooms attached to the stable block. Gel got ready with her daughters and friends, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. As far as bridal prep goes, it was very relaxed but the children were pretty excited to get on their dresses. The wedding party then walked the short distance to get to the ceremony. The field opposite the farm and campsite was set up for an outdoor ceremony.

Intimate outdoor wedding ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair next to the grounds of the venue. The setting was perfect, lots of hay bales for guests to sit on with a flower arch as an alter so Gel and Baz can say the I do’s. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading by Katie. It was so sweet and such a personal touch of combining sand into a bottle making the family whole as one.

DIY wedding in Oswestry

The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose a Barnutopia wedding because they could have the place for the whole weekend and they could totally personalise it. It was an afternoon tea party wedding breakfast and the wedding, which was all about friends and family in a very chilled out atmosphere. I love shooting these type of weddings because the people are just wonderful. I normally find that the guests and family of the couples who book me are generally the same nature as me. Layed back and happy to have a good chat and laugh and not take life too seriously.

They had a popcorn machine in the afternoon and ice cream! Live music played in the day as well as a band in the evening. They decorated the venue with flowers and bunting and beautiful china. Which was ready for the afternoon tea and cakes.

For dinner they had a fish and chips van, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, which was short and sweet and they finished off the evening with a photo booth and dancing.

CLIENT LOVE

"We booked Cloud9 wedding photography for our wedding. From the beginning, Dominic was really easy to get on with and to work with. We were looking for someone to take natural pictures throughout the day and he was perfect for this. He got on with all the guests and blended in brilliantly. The photos were all fab and we couldn't have asked for more. Would absolutely recommend 100%."
