Walcot Hall Wedding photography
Walcot Hall wedding photography - I loved catching back up with Jess and Ollie. Especially in October as the autumn colours are so vibrant. Walcot Hall is such a unique and rustic wedding venue. Not forgetting it has some outstanding views of the Shropshire hills. The gardens this time of year at Walcot Hall are astonishing covering over 30 acres and includes one of the finest Arboretums in Britain. It’s Autumn, so I couldn’t ask for a better time of year to photograph a wedding here.
I arrived at Walcot Hall wedding venue nice and early. Stopping part of the way through the estate capturing how picturesque it is. Building up the story of Jess and Ollie’s wedding day. Today I had the pleasure of working with Martin who runs his own wedding photography business in Worcestershire. Jess and Ollie decided as the clocks had gone back and the early evenings are starting to get darker to add a second photographer for the day so we could make the most of the natural light. This is something I offer as an additional extra subject to availability of course.
Autumn Wedding at Walcot Hall
The day started off with bridal preparations and everyone was very much relaxed. Jess had a slight flutter of nerves knowing that in a couple of hours she will be seeing Ollie down the aisle. Meanwhile Martin was on the other side of the estate in the boy’s accommodation doing some groom’s party shots. This is something I very rarely get chance to photograph myself, but looking at the pictures he took for me they all had a great time.
So it was a really nice change to be in one location for the whole of the day. Ollie had arrived and was patiently waiting as he watched Jess make her way down the sweeping staircase. The ceremony was a bit special with some personal written vows to one another. Lots of happy smiles the odd tear, it was time to celebrate the day in style.
Unique shropshire wedding venue
Jess & Ollie’s confetti shot was a little different to the normal traditional confetti which is thrown. So if you’re having an autumn wedding, why not go with the flow of the season and throw autumn leaves instead. Following this I proceeded with the family shots, whilst Martin went into the courtyard to do some documentary shots of everyone enjoying themselves. A magician was doing the rounds and canapés and drinks were flowing. I even had time to take Jess and Ollie into the gardens for a spot of portraits and then quickly back into the Hall for the wedding breakfast.
During the wedding breakfast, just after the main meal Jess and Ollie had previously suggested we took a walk with the bridesmaids and the ushers for some fun shots. So off into the arboretum we went where you will find lots of unusual glamping accommodation spread throughout. For me it’s the old reconstructed chapel which makes the slightly long walk up hill worthwhile. What an amazing structure to have right in the middle of the woods, I’m afraid to say it’s a must have shot if you get married at Walcot Hall wedding venue.

So finally it’s back to the ballroom for the speeches which had abit of a surprise at the end for all of the guests. As the theme for the wedding was theatrical west end plays, what was more fitting than to have The West end singing waiters finish off the speeches with an astonishing performance. Finishing off the evening we took Jess and Ollie away for one last image and we decided to go for it as there was two of us. Check out our creative shot near the end of this blog.
Walcot Hall wedding venue is such a great place to get married with so many options for photographs. I shall look forward to next year when I will be back again for a Walcot Hall summer’s wedding.
