Now Tim and Janna are getting married at Old Downton Lodge, so what better place to do their pre shoot than Old Downton Lodge. Of course we couldn’t miss out on a couple of stops on the way.

Everything about this wedding venue is perfect, set in the middle of the Shropshire countryside surrounded by rolling hills.  The courtyard has an amazing landscaped garden with an almost a mediterranean feel to it.  This has to be one of  Shropshire’s best kept secrets and the owners are Willem and Pippa who have organised some amazing weddings and I have been lucky enough to have worked along side them for some years now.

So you can see why I’m so excited, not only will I be photographing two very good friend’s wedding day.  But I will be surrounded by familiar faces, also this will be my first intimate wedding at Old Downton Lodge.  Myself and Tim go back for some years, when he first moved to Ludlow. We met down the local gym and instantly we got on like a house on fire and soon we were out drinking with a good group of friends and playing pool in the Ludlow town league every week.  Not too far away was our annual trip away for new years eve  in Cardiff and a certain young lady named Janna joined the group that night, and as they say the rest is history and Janna and Tim have been a perfect couple since.

The pre shoot was full of laughter, pulling each other’s legs and just a joy to work with.  We got some cracking photos, but one shot was requested by Janna as it was the season for oilseed rape. I don’t blame her, I do love the effect it has on our countryside and  how it fills the fields with such an intense colour.

Below you will find a selection of the images we took that evening around Old Downton Lodge and the surrounding area.

Tim and Janna, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding I know it’s going to be a blast.

If you’re having a small intimate wedding  and like what you see. I would love to here more about your wedding plans, so why not get in touch via my contact form and I will be in touch very soon.
