Pimhill Barn Wedding | Richard And Rhiannon

Today I’m working at Pimhill Barn which is pretty exciting as it’s the very first time I have worked at this amazing new wedding venue, north of Shrewsbury.

Richard & Rhiannon are getting married and having their reception at Pimhill barn wedding venue.  The barn is  architecturally stunning and dates back to 1584.  It provides the perfect surroundings for a wedding or any kind of event.  Rhiannon had her bridal preparations at her parents home in Shrewsbury whilst Richard got ready with his best man at Pimhill Barn.  I have to say it was a smashing sunny day considering it was 2 weeks into October.

Pimhill Barn is pretty impressive inside with the exposed brick work, rustic beams and a wooden floor.   I have to say it was rather challenging photographic wise, because barns have no windows letting in any natural light and with the double set of barn doors being closed as it was pretty chilly, it was quite dark inside.  Luckily I had just purchased a brand new Nikon D750 which has been reviewed for being amazing in low light situations such as this one.  I was very impressed with the results, as often during services you are not permitted to use flash.   It was soon time for everyone to make their way outside for the confetti shots and canapés and a bit of mingling while I took some of the family to one side for some formal shots around the venue grounds and garden.  Pimhill Barn has some beautiful landscaped gardens which were ideal for photographs and once all the family pictures were taken we had some time alone with Richard and Rhiannon for a little portrait session and then back before the guests had time to miss them.

Later on into the evening as the sun was just setting, I noticed some gorgeous red ivy glowing in the sunshine so I had to grab the bride and groom for a couple of shots, it would have been rude not to. Now that the evenings are dark early I had some time to be a little creative and try something I don’t normally do.

I had such a great time at Pimhill barn and shall look forward to returning in 2015.
